Tomorrow Sun 07 Jan 18 going to brave the cold and spend the day at WWT Slimbridge with my Nikon Coolpix P900, hopefully I will come back with a batch of top shots.

This is my new camera the Nikon Coolpix P900 Bridge, until recently I was using a Nikon D800 with a Nikon D700 as back up but lately I lost my enthusiasm for taking photograph’s due to an illness and having to cart around bags of kit and still not being able to get the shots I wanted.  I purchased the P900 because of the lens focal length, at a very impressive 24-2000mm this could be the answer to my prayers.

My favourite genre’s of photography are Wildlife and Street so hopefully this camera will do the job, from the initial shots I’ve taken I have to say that I very impressed.

Having read numerous reviews they all seem to follow one theme which is to compare the P900 with a DSLR, I’m not going to do that because the P900 is not a DSLR it’s a Bridge Camera, comparing the two would be like comparing a Family Saloon Car with a Formula One Car, there is no comparison but if like me you could afford a Camera like the D800 you still have to go to considerable expense to buy the lenses to do the camera justice.

Over the coming weeks and months I am going to put this camera through it paces and focus on the positive not the negative.

Join me on my journey and I hope you enjoy the images and write up that I post.
